    Mother's Day Cards
I rarely buy them. Most often I go back for a visit on that day bearing a small gift of ...appreciation?...respect? Not sure what the gift is supposed to signify and I guess in my mind it is merely an appreciation of knowing she did what she had to do to get by and kept my sister and me in the dark as to how dire some of the straights were we had to traverse.

I'd say she in some wierd twisted way, is my role model. And thru her I've learned as much of how I don't want to be as how I do. I hope I've heeded well.

So, off we went, the hubby and I, to buy our cards. He has had a rocky past with his own mother and its rather heartening to see the buds of a new phase in their relationship beginning to bloom of late.

We found the perfect card, he and I. It was perfect in its simplicity. It was a card I didn't feel hypocritical buying. It didn't say anything about thanks for being such a wonderful mother or how much you're appreciated or any of the drivel that sometimes turns me off. It was short and sweet and to the point. It was so perfect that we each bought the same card for our mothers.

    It said: "Mother...I love you...always have...always will."
