    Rocket Hospital
So, the insurance company paid up; the rocket is in the body shop for repairs which started off the week nicely. The repair shop is just over a mile and a half from our house so I drove the car in at eight this morning and walked home. That really felt great getting up early and getting my exercise in.

Our home repair list seems like its getting longer and more expensive. With the new roof work complete it looks like we will have to bite the bullet and have the plumbers out. Actually the bullet is already bitten and the plumbers will be here tomorrow morning. For about the past month or more we've been hearing water running thru the pipes at all hours. Definately a leak somewhere, unfortunately we live on a slab and we really don't want to have to jackhammer up the foundation. Our plumber seems to think he can repair the leak but "only" tearing out the drywall in the laundry room and installing some shut off valves and rerouting the faulty pipe. UGH.

In a couple of weeks our new windows should also be in. The entire house has relatively new windows except for the front two upstairs. It doesn't sound like such an emergency except we have no way of opening Miss Boo's window and its about to get hot and stuffy around here. The other window which needs to be replaced is in my "workroom" and I definately don't want to be in here under hot lights with no airflow.

This past weekend we went to my parent's house on Saturday and spent the night for a cookout on Sunday. For some reason which should seem obvious I wasn't looking forward to the weekend. There are times when I love going for a visit and others that just fill me with dread. This one seemed to land somewhere in the middle. I had a new salad/dip recipe that I was eager to try and Miss Boo had a peach cobbler recipe that she was excited about making but I felt anxious about going. Some of my fears were quite well-founded when it began raining and the 16 of us were packed into my parent's large-but-not-large-enough sunroom.

The sunroom is on the left, the patio is to the right. (My parent's house) Posted by Hello
I spent quite a bit of time pacing from space to space to seek more room for my "comfort bubble." All in all, the weekend turned out alright after all. At least I survived.
